Glitter Wrap Up

Whew! Who was the bright person that thought a birthday party for 15 9 yr olds was a smart thing to do immediately following Glitter Market. Sometimes I think my hair should be white blond. Nevertheless it all got done and went off with out a hitch -just a mess.

What a weekend! Once again I want to thank everyone who come out on Saturday to support Glitter Market. It definitely was a stay in bed morning but so many of you were here to greet us when we opened the doors. We really are so very lucky we have so much talent in our "backyard"  and that we have such an active community that supports so many artists' talents and their passions.  Thank you Holly, Linda, Bobbie, Jackie, Medeah, Leslie and Arlene you amaze me and inspire me and I'm honored to call each of you a friend.

A special thank you to all my travelers- Colette from Canada, Charlotte from Dallas and Michael and Kendall from Ft. Worth.  You all could showcase your talents much closer to home but each of you have repeatedly made the flight/ drive to OKC to come to Glitter Market. I so appreciate the sacrifices you made and am honored to have you. At least for the day, you are honorary Okies! As like the others, you amaze me and inspire me and I'm glad to call each of you a friend. Ann-Denise you are one lucky girl, I can only imagine sending Austin and Emory to an event to vend for me- might have to send that duo to 31 Wishes : )

I don't have many pictures, I  must have been more scattered this year. Here is what I have or have taken from Jackie or Bobbie- Thanks girls for covering my you know what- again.

Jackie's booth was overflowing at 10 and by 11- slim pickins'

Linda and Bobbie's booth. I never even saw what Bobbie brought. I think Ms. Knox got the picture I was eyeing.

Miss Kendall filling in for her mom, Ann-Denise.

Medeah and Peggy before the rush.

Arlene's cakes were once again a hit.

Beautiful work by Colette.

Sorry the pic is a little blurry but the jewelry stunning

Beautiful Holly and her sweet booth.

A happy customer, Lisa.

Wonder Woman

As I have said, but I'm sure not enough, I have been so blessed to have some of the kindest and most helpful people just pop into my life and the store. Bobbie is definitely in that group. She teaches amazing classes at the store and even spiffed up the backroom for me this week. It looks a million times better and now you can actually see all those amazing projects. In addition to helping me, Bobbie will be vending at Glitter Market tomorrow.

She has a distinct vintage style that is a perfect fit for our customers and Paper Crown. Here is a sneak peek of what Bobbie will be offering tomorrow....

A few of our vendors have already set up and I can say this might be the best Glitter Market yet. The products offered are of high quality and artistic expression. We are so lucky to have such talent in our own back yard. You will not want to miss tomorrow!

Have Your Cake and Eat It Too

Who would have thought that the weather for spring Glitter Market would be more like that for winter Glitter Market! It is Oklahoma! What better place to be on a cool dreary Saturday than Glitter Market.

Thursday's featured vendor is Arlene Jacobs. Arlene joined us this fall and has the most adorable " celebration cakes."  These are the perfect way to celebrate and- no calories. Arlene's display this fall was jam packed with her creations and was a big hit with our Glitter Market patrons. We are glad to have Arlene join us with her sweet treats!

She's Here!

Our favorite Canadian artist is in town and ready to share her talents with OKC. We still have a couple of openings in this evenings Project Runway class. I would love for Colette to have a full house tonight so if you have been on the fence, jump on over. You have the option of making either

or

All supplies are included except please bring your sewing kit. This class is a bargain at $55 and you will get to select supplies from Colette's stash of antique French linens. Colette told me last night 5 of her projects will be featured in Somerset Studios upcoming Somerset Workshop. Here's your chance to learn from a Somerset Studios artist.  Let's show Colette a warm Oklahoma welcome ! Call the store and let us know you will be coming. Thank you!

Oh So Beautiful

Robin and the talented Charlotte Perez

Our fourth Paper Crown Glitter Market vendor is Charlotte Perez. This lady not only creates the most stunning and unique jewelry but is such a joy to be around. From her chic haircut to her signature red lipstick and her contagious laugh- Charlotte just makes your heart smile. We are so very lucky Charlotte agreed to make the trip north from Dallas to again be a vendor at Glitter Market. Here is a sneak peek at her one of a kind jewelry...

What Can I Say

Don't you just love this picture!

Really what can I say about Jackie other than she is "practically perfect in very possible way." If you have ever seen her unpack for class or Glitter Market you will swear she has a magic carpet bag just like Mary Poppins.

Jackie has taught more classes than I can count, been the driving force in Glitter Market- and that long line waiting to get in, and my encourager and helper in all things Paper Crown. She will have an amazing  stash of goodies for sale on Saturday but here is just a small sample of what you can expect....

It will be easy to find Jackie's table on Saturday- just follow the mob!

Glitter Girl Linda Land

Our second featured Glitter Market vendor is Linda Land. I don't think Linda would mind me calling her glitter girl because I know she is a fan of that shiny, messy stuff.

Linda is one of the most talented and the most humble artists I know. She has actually said to me" what would I teach and who would want to take a class from me" Seriously!!! All of us who know her realize what an amazingly talented and kind person she is. I hope someday she truly realizes how very special she is.

Linda and I met when Katie was in kindergarten and her daughter Emma was in first grade. Linda did all the play backdrops and costumes- not and easy act to follow. For years I wanted  the Linda Land painting at the school auction but was always out bid. I had the mind set "I just want a Linda Land painting." I looked around the house and I have four. Apparently I still have that mindset as I snatch her lastest creation. Yes, I have my eyes set on one from this spring's Glitter Market but I'm not about to tell you which one.

Here is some good Linda Trivia. If you are a fan of Iron Starr, you will recall those large cowgirl and cowboy paintings hanging in the restaurant- Linda did those. Also the collaborative floral painting we have done in Kid's camp and for an adult class- Linda was the original- which kinda makes me a copy cat ; ( There I owned it, sorry friend.
