Paper Crown Fall Glitter Retreat- part IV- the swaps

Each day of the retreat we had a swap and after seeing what these ladies created, I'm wondering if they should have been teaching. They were ALL out of this world and so over the top. Beautiful works of art whether it was a purse, mask or ATC card. My only regret, and it is a big one, is that I did not get pictures of each and every one of them. Actually I don't even have any of the ATC cards. It was right before my class and I was hustling to get everything ready. I apologize girls; they were amazing!

First swap was a purse swap compliments of Thelma. I love her "go getter" attitude. She is thousands of miles away and has only met one of us Okies, but a fabulous one, and volunteers to head up a swap. She tweaked my somewhat lame idea into a fun swap that was a huge hit. Thelma had the girls fill out a list of preferences and then assigned that list to a partner who created a purse based on their likes. They were amazing; truly each one was a work of art.

They even surprised me with a purse made by the group. Such a very special and meaningful gift.

Since our theme for the retreat was "create magic," I decided to have everyone create a masquerade mask for our Friday swap.

 

 

The last swap was a " magic themed" ATC card. Unfortunately there are no pictures ; (  But believe me they were also fabulous! Thank you everyone who participated in the swaps. We love seeing all your talent on display!

Paper Crown Fall Glittered Retreat - part III - the projects

Although the atmosphere, decorations, food, surprises, swaps and companionship were great, let's face it, the ladies came to create, or as we spun it "create some magic." And they did and it was enchanting!

first up was Bobbie's All Hallow's  Eve Hat. Absolutely stunning and did the feathers fly!

 

 

Next up was Jackie's doll class. Each doll was so unique!

 

We started the day Saturday with Medeah's Mixed Media canvas.

 

 

 

 

 

Wish we had pictures of Medeah's class, they were all so different and lovely.


Last class on Saturday was my " pick up sticks" heart.

Paper Crown Fall Glitter Retreat- the event part II

One of the most fun parts of the retreat is transforming the paper attic for each meal. Friday night we played up the " create magic theme " with stars, top hats and masquerade masks. It was totally different than the spring themes we had used at the last retreat. Jackie made the beautiful masks and they were the perfect props for pictures.

After dinner, a few treats and some yummy pie thanks to the Pie Junkies, it was off to bed to rest up for another day full of crafting. After a quick breakfast it was a fun morning of creating with Medeah. You will always learn something new with Medeah and I think Art Anthlogy has a few new fans due to Meadeah.

 

 

 

Lunch was the famous La Madeline tomato basil soup and salad, just what we needed to get us through the afternoon class. Bobbie did a great job transforming the attic into vintage magic. The last treat was a suitcase full of vintage goodies. Be on the lookout in the store for new glass glitter and vintage tags.

The last class of the day was a return to grade school. I normally don't teach many adult classes but thought the ladies might enjoy one of my favorite kid's camp projects.
