Valentine Swap

A new year is a great time to start a new swap and with Valentine's just around the corner; let's combine both. We are going to do a Valentine's " postcard" swap using these adorable vintage postcards.

The front is blank so you will have plenty of room to create your own Valentine. You can use paper, stamps, paint, ink - the sky is the limit ! You can swing by the store and pick up two postcards, one will be on display at Paper Crown and the second will be in the swap. Postcards can be picked up at anytime and turned in by Saturday, February 7th. Your swap postcard can be picked up on Tuesday, February 10th.

Since they are postcards, you can either drop your swap off at the store or mail it in- how fun to get beautiful mail! All participants will get a $5 Paper Crown gift card when they turn in their postcards. We just ask that if you take postcards , you complete the swap.

I hope our largest group ever joins us in the Valentine postcard swap! We have a lot of hearts at the store to get you inspired!

Season of Red and Pink

We are quickly approaching the season of red & pink at Paper Crown. Valentine paper, stamps, embellishments and goodies are on display: the most fun Rifle Valentines cards for your sweetheart are on order  and vintage Valentine wrapping to make a "sweet" presentation for all your love gifts.

The next two classes on the calendar also are decked in red, pink and hearts!

Both of these classes feature the newest Character Construction stamps, " Adventures in Tea" which was released last week. I received confirmation today that the "Adventures in Tea" stamp will be at the store tomorrow . Typically the postman arrives mid morning so I am hoping by early afternoon they will be ready for all of you Catherine Moore fans- and who isn't. Come tomorrow to get your pick of these stamps; you are going to LOVE them!  

 

 

We also have decided on a Valentine's swap and it will be announced tomorrow! I will give you a hint , this swap will require a stamp- of some kind!

 

Thanks to all the girls that came last night for our first class of 2015. It was cold but we had a cozy evening creating our planners and hopefully getting 2015 off on the right foot. It was also great to have Jackie back in the classroom; we missed you the past couple of months.

What Do You Think?

 

 

First off we ARE open today and tomorrow. We will remain open until I can figure out the best way to take inventory with a computer that still runs in DOS- 2015 might be the year for a new point of sale system. So until you hear otherwise, we are open regular days and times, Mon. - Fri. 10-5 and Sat. 10-4. I will be putting out Valentine's today and all the remaining Christmas is in the backroom at 60 % off for a short time.  The backs of many Christmas papers are not " Christmasy" so it might be worth a peek.

If you don't have a calendar for the new year or want one that is adorable and made just for YOU, this class is for you. This 2015 planner has one of our favorite stamps on the front and lots of goodies inside with plenty of room to write down appointments, classes and all the extras we need to keep track of. Class size is limited to 11. A credit card number or payment is required before you can be put on the class list.

 

For those of you who are signed up already for class you will need to bring your basic class kit along with a stylist, bone folder, paper trimmer and some good strong double sided tape.

We did this last year and I think it worked out pretty well- we had two Glitter Market Retreats. Please let me know what products you would like to see in the store; what classes interest you; what out of town teachers you would like to see brought in; what new products you want at the store; contests, swaps, clubs. Happy New Year's

 

 

As we quickly bring 2014 to a close I would like to say what a blessing each of our customers, and more importantly friends, have meant to me. You have brought laughter, friendship and an unending source of creativity to our little paper arts store in OKC. I'll spend the next few days planning out 2015 and am so glad I will get to share it with you!

I would love to hear what you would like to see in the store, classes taught and teachers to visit. If you will take a moment and let me know, I will try my best to make it happen.

I hope your 2015 is full of friends, family, love, blessings and plenty of time to create!

 

End the Year on a High Note

Last week as I was shuffling around the store trying to get things done before I left for a white Christmas in Colorado, I quickly unpacked a box from Somerset Studios. I knew it was magazines and thought great reading material for the long drive to Pagosa Springs. When a new shipment comes in, I always flip through them quickly and pull the ones I want to read for home.

As I was flipping through Somerset Life, my eye caught a picture of a darn good replica of our chandelier. My first thought was, who copied our chandelier and then when I looked at the following page......

 

Our Spring Glitter Retreat was published in Somerset Life!  

 

 

I will admit I screamed- Robn can attest to that. We have a 6 page spread with some beautiful pictures- thanks to Savannah. Thank you Bobbie, Holly, Jackie, Medeah, Savannah and the 24 wonderful attendees to our first Paper Crown Glitter Retreat. Because of YOU we are ending the year on an incredible high.

 

We have copies of Somerset Life at the store and more on order if you would like to share in our surprise.
