Class Description:

This workshop is a reboot of my popular ‘Perching Pixies’ class where we will utilize the magic of inkjet shrink plastic rather than wood to create tiny 3D standalone artworks!  I will show you simple decorative techniques to add color and pattern to your shrink plastic pieces.  We will then add metal hats, wings and other accessories to the pixies using cold connections.  Ways to engineer the proper seating for your wonderful plastic creations will be discussed and demonstrated.   Come and enjoy a relaxing day where we will revisit an old childhood friend and give it an artful makeover!

Class Description:

We will use original cabinet cards and cdvs (tiny cabinet cards) to create wonderful cut outs!  You can make a single one to stand alone or create a grouping to grace a shelf!  You will learn how to use a jeweler's saw and work with metal (drilling, cutting, etc.).   Techniques to color and decorate the cards will be explored as well. To further accentuate your pieces, lightweight accessories will be crafted from inkjet shrink plastic. So gather some of those monochromatic cards you have lying around and give them some personality!!
