What a FUN Weekend!

The incredibly talented, very generous and endlessly patient Terri Brush was at Paper Crown this weekend for three full, fun classes. I always count my lucky stars when Terri agrees to pack up all those many boxes of supplies and leaves her beautiful studio to teach at Paper Crown. We are so blessed to have her at the store. If you haven't taken from Terri, I would definitely put it on your " bucket list."

Thank you to everyone who signed up and spent the day- or the weekend with us! We had such a good mix of regulars and those new to Paper Crown. Terri is quite a draw, we had friends from TX, GA and KS. Thank you ladies for spending the weekend we us. We hope to see you soon.!

Terri's job and mine is made much easier with the help of Heather Ales who drives up from TX to be Terri's trusty assistant. She also kept us all full so we could create nonstop for three days. Thank you Heather for leaving those two cutie pies and spending the weekend with us. You are the best!

On Friday we made beautiful leather and ribbon bracelets with a soldered hearts, Saturday was lots of heart bezels, just in time for Valentine's Day and Sunday was a soldered shadowbox. With over 15 in each class it was fun to see the many variations in each project. Thank you Terri, Heather and all of you incredibly talented ladies who make Paper Crown special and our " happy place."

Another New Favorite

As I was putting out some of the new lines yesterday, I think I might have come across another new favorite! Love this new line by Pink Paislee; it is extensive ( over 20 patterns), bright, whimsical and so very charming. Jackie grabbed some last night so I bet we might see it in a project sometime in the near future. the embellishments are going quickly but with over 500 sheets, paper is still plentiful and I guarantee you will LOVE it!

New Favorite

This line is designed by one of my new favorite paper goods designers, 1canoe2. I have one of their planners and I love it! I have an order of some of their paper goods- cards, notebooks, prints which should be at the store shortly. They recently teamed up with American Crafts to produce their first paper crafting line and you will love it.

This Webster's traveler's notebook goes great with the Hazelwood line.

The first of the 2017 show lines will be here late tomorrow. It is American Crafts so lots of your favorite brands. New lines should be ready to go home with you on Saturday! In the meantime, Christmas will be 40% off until all the new arrives.

Still room in this cute felt Valentine's project. Vintage felt heart/banner is tomorrow evening at 5:30. Come start the year off on a creative foot with the art goddess, Jackie. Cost is $45 and includes all supplies. To register, call Paper Crown at 405 848-2389.

·        Heat Dryer

·        Favorite Washi Tapes

      ·        Ranger Glue & Seal or Multi Medium Matte, Liqutex Medium, any brand is fine

Mixed & Stitched
Saturday, March 18th
created and taught by Stephanie
10:00-4:00
$100
cost includes a $10 credit to use at Paper Crown

When you leave perfection and hesitation at the door and come in with an open heart and mind to create something without measuring, planning, placing or coordinating, something amazing happens.   You relax and enjoy the process…that is, until you poke your finger with a needle.
I am excited to not only teach you to look at fabrics and felts a little differently, I am excited to sit and create right alongside you.  Join me for an entire day of simple stitching, collaging felts and fabrics together, scrap swapping, lunch and finger poking at some point.
The most difficult part of this new day long Mixed & Stitched Workshop is dividing the floss into strands and threading the dang needle, I promise.
The workshop includes the following supplies:
·        Four 6” x 8 ½” fabric/felt pages in assorted colors
·        One 7” x 9” Kraft Binder
·        Assorted colors of embroidery floss
·        needles
·        A buffet of wool felt and patterned fabrics to share and tear
·        $10.00 Paper Crown Dollars towards your purchase of felt and/or fabric
Student's Supply List:
·        Pins
·        Glasses to be able to see threading a needle
·        Scraps to swap
·        Scissors
·        Any favorite stitching supplies
·        Snacks because snacks are always needed when creating.

To sign up for either or both of Stephanie's classes, call Paper Crown at 405 848-2389 with your credit card. As with all out of town teachers, we have a no cancellation policy so please check your calendars carefully before signing up. In the past Stephanie's classes have filled up very quickly so be warned : ) We hope to see you at one of our favorite weekends of the year! If you have never taken a class from Stephanie, you are in for a treat!

Getting Back to Normal...

Looks like this week the holidays and weather will cooperate and we can finally start getting back to normal. The sticky notes are slowly being removed, we have our first gorgeous class of 2017 and all the pinks and reds for Valentine's Day are really brightening the store on this dreary day.

January and February classes are on line and sign ups open. In addition, special guest artist Colleen Moody's sign up for her February class is open and I will open sign ups for March's guest artist, Stephanie Ackerman in a separate post later today.

Join us for the first Paper Crown class of 2017 this Thursday, Jan. 19th from 5:30-8:30.

Colleen Moody will be here Sunday, February 26th to teach her doll making techniques with this lovely project entitled, Springtime Pleasure.
