Save These Dates!

I know we are all scrambling to get ready for Christmas but I have a couple of dates I know you will want to save. Over the next couple of weeks, hopefully you will be with friends and family and they might want to join you on these two creative treats.

First, the queen of all things soldered and sparkling, Terri Brush, will be returning to Oklahoma City the weekend of Jan. 27th-29th for a trio of gorgeous classes. Sign up has begun and you can reserve your spot at http://terribrushdesigns.com/oklahoma-workshops-hands-on-class/ . We are beyond thrilled to have Terri back at Paper Crown and if you haven't had the opportunity to take a class from Terri, now is your chance.

Our second, very special save the date, is the incredibly talented Colleen Moody. I have admired her dolls and creations for years and when I found out she had a son going to college in OK, I jumped on the possible teaching opportunity. Lucky for us, Colleen agreed and she will be here for a class on Sunday, February 26th. We just firmed up the date so we will have more information after the holidays but I know you will want to put this date on your calendar.

So put a big "X" or more appropriately, a big smiley face, on these dates- Fri., Jan. 27th- Sun., Jan. 29th and Sun., Feb. 26th. More info coming after the holidays.

The perfect gift, a Paper Crown gift card in any denomination you choose.

10 Things for a Blustery Weekend

Only in Oklahoma can we go from 60 to 6 in 24 hours- Brrrr! Here are 10 things you can do tonight /tomorrow in the comfort of your warm home. I love special projects for snow/ cold days!

1. Take your time and wrap up some beautiful packages. We have colorful Rifle and Cavallini papers that will make gorgeous packages and the best selection of ribbon in all of OKC (after Christmas you have added to your ribbon stash)

2. Create your own Christmas tags using my favorite holiday stamps from Character Construction.

Don't you love these cuties Jackie stitched up with our felt and Charlotte Lyons pattern?

 3. Stitch up an adorable tag or ornament with our heavenly assortment of felt.

4. Do a little planning for 2017- record birthdays, anniversaries, trips. We have both the standard planners for strictly information and those you can create to make a 2017 piece of art.

5. Nothing more relaxing than some Christmas coloring. These are my favorite adult Christmas coloring books

6. A cup of coffee or tea and the newest selection of art magazines from Somerset Studios.

7. Why not go ahead and write out your recipes for your Christmas festivities- you know they are going to want them and what a nice treat.

8. Admit it we all have quite a stash of craft items so why not spend the afternoon getting them organized with these stylish boxes and containers from Crate Paper.

9.Next week is going to be crazy but getting it all down on pretty paper will help make those tasks not so overwhelming. These also make great stocking stuffers, who doesn't need to make a list.

10. I honestly can't think of anything more relaxing than coloring by the fire. Here are a few of my favorite coloring books and supplies.

As of now, we will be open today until 4. If the sleet rolls in earlier, we will close sooner. Stay warm this weekend and enjoy your time at home.

A Must for Stampers

I'm pretty old school. I have a love/ more hate relationship with my computer and 9 times out of 10, I would rather cut something out by hand than use a die cut but there are times a gadget can make my life so much easier. I am pretty sure the We R memory keeper's Precision Press is one of those exceptions.  This handy tool allows you to re-ink stamps, precisely layer stamps and run multiple prints. This press eliminates a lot of frustrations that occur when stamping cards, tags and paper dolls.
I have a feeling this will show up on a lot of Christmas lists so just send that jolly guy in red into Paper Crown. Since it is the holiday season we will not be able to hold these without a credit card.

We have a good selection of the layering stamps and inks or use one from your collection. Come get the Precision Press for some stress free stamping.

Whew!! What a Busy But Oh So Fun Week

Where did this week go? I can't believe Paper Crown Glitter Market was a week ago. My apologies for being AWOL this week. It has been one wonderful thing after another but I am finally getting to catch my breathe.

Last Friday as Jackie and I were scrabbling to set up for Glitter Market, look who popped into the store....

the very talented Colleen Moody ! Colleen's son is going to college in state and they were in town for a game. It was so nice to meet Colleen in person and we talked about Colleen teaching at Paper Crown. Date coming very soon- it is actually next on the list after this blog posting.

Saturday was Glitter Market and what a great selection of vendors we had this year. I am always so impressed by our local talent and this year was no exception. Thank you to all the talented vendors and all of our loyal customers. It was a fun day for everyone and something we all look forward to every year.

Sunday was a relaxing end to the weekend with the so, so nice and fun Jenn McGlon of Noodle & Lou. It was such a pleasure to meet Jenn and we all had such a lovely time in this class. We all decided Jenn needs to come back and wouldn't one of her dolls be fun for Glitter Retreat - hint, hint.

Tuesday evening was the Casady Square Holiday Open House. Always lots of new people in the store and an interesting evening. Thank you to everyone who came out to support PC and Casady Square.

The perfect ending to the week- Irish are continuing on to the 3rd round of 5A State Championship. Woo Hoo! Although we are once again playing a team with a tiger mascot, I think this is the 3rd or 4th for the season so if you have any slogan ideas I'd love to hear them.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this such a full but fun week!
