Round 1 was such a success and so many generous artists were wanting to help that Hope for Oklahoma is now in round 2. The online facebook auction runs through Friday, June 14 at 7pm. For those of you in the OKC area, it appears we won't have to contend with tornadoes or flooding in the closing minutes of this auction- thank goodness.
Paper Crown girls Robin Thomas and Heather Ales have once again generously contributed to this auction. There are lots of pretties so I encourage you to check out the auction, it is going towards a very worthy cause and one near and dear to our hearts.
Heather came up to OKC last Saturday to deliver the proceeds from round 1 of Hope for Oklahoma. I am very happy to say a portion went to our very own "singing clerk" Cheri. She and her husband Alan were overwhelmed by the generosity. Cheri commented that May 20th was one of the worst days of her life but ironically, also one of the very best. Cheri has a very strong faith and said she has seen her God in the faces and actions of all those who have helped. Thank you!
As you can see no baby yet but if Grant has not made an appearance by Sat., Cheri will be induced on Sunday for the most perfect " Father's Day."
Go check out Hope for Oklahoma 2 and remember " bid high it's helping our neighbors!"
I also wanted to let you know about another project that Paper Crown is involved in to help those affected by this spring's tornadoes. I was contacted by a customer, Abbey, who was collecting scrapbook supplies for those who lost their homes in the storms. I gladly jumped on board and the boxes have been arriving.
We have received boxes from VA, CA, AR, CT to name a few. If you live in the area, we are a collection spot so please bring by your donations. If you want to help from out of state, donations can be mailed to Paper Crown, 9303 N. Pennsylvania, OKC, OK 73120. We will be collecting for a while and will have a weekend "store" set up in the back for those affected to choose what they would like. If you know of someone who enjoys scrap booking or crafts and lost their home in the storm please let us know. Thank you in advance for your generosity and help.
