We had a great day yesterday but there is still plenty left from our first installment of the monthly "Tubba Sale." Select paper is a dime, paper packs and pads are $3.99 and embellishments,stamps, stickers, etc.  are .99. It's a great time to shop some fantastic deals. Sale ends today at 4.

I unloaded a tub this morning and there are some great spring papers and a table full of embellishments. Paper is a dime, embellishments .99 and paper packs and collection kits $3.99. There is nothing on the sale table over $4- it's a great deal! We have already had some ladies taking advantage of this great deal; you don't want to miss out!  Sale is today and tomorrow only and when it's gone that's it until next month.

A New Tradition

I've decided to start a new tradition of sorts for 2015 so mark your calendars for the last Friday and Saturday of every month. The store room is getting a little cramped with tubs- lots and lots of tubs, 12 to be exact. I want some wide open space in the back so we are going to have a " Tubba Sale" the last
Friday and Saturday of every month.

You are probably wondering what's in these tubs. When I run out of room in the front, I will sack up a collection and put it in a tub in the back to bring it back out when I have room. Problem is, there is never enough room. I have some great collections, most not even a year old but no room. So here is what I'm going to do...

The last Friday of the month I will pick a tub, unload it in the classroom and for those two days, all the paper from those tubs will be a quarter and all embellishments (stickers, brads, die cuts, stamps) will be .99.  For some of the embellishments it will be an incredible discount and others a great one but not crazy good. No matter what you pick, it will be at a huge discount and you might find some old favorites, a supply of staples or a stash for the kiddos.

It will be a win win for everyone and after Saturday it will be donated to a great cause.
So make sure you swing by this weekend for our first installment of our " Tubba Sale." Paper Crown is open Mon- Fri 10-5 and Sat 10-4. Sale is for individual customers only and unfortunately we are not able to do mail orders.

Just In Time for Your Valentines

Thought I would give you a peek at all the fun vintage elements that have arrived- just in time for your Valentines!

Crinkle wire which I think is the same as bullion wire. It definitely has some spring. 

 These are like Dresden only in color instead of gold.

First One In

Our first Valentine swap postcard came in Friday pm from the lovely and talented, and recently retired, Debbie Musik.

I love the simplicity of it. The hearts are punched from maps Debbie covered in resin. Very cool effect and she showed us some other types of  papers she used with this same technique. If you haven't picked up your postcards for the swap it isn't too late.  Postcards don't need to be turned in until Sat., Feb. 7th so you still have time. Tomorrow is supposed to be another warm beautiful day, but the rain and cold return at the end of the week so you can work on your postcard then. I can't wait to see what you all have up your sleeve but I know they will be beautiful works of art.

It Rarely Happens

It rarely happens but we have one lone kit from last night's Adventures in Tea Valentine Tag Class. Kit includes everything to make the two pictured tags and as a surprise, Jackie threw in the goodies for a third tag. Pictures of the tags are also included so you can easily create your own. Cost is $30 and first one to leave a comment wins. You can either pick it up or I can put in the mail.

Great job to Jackie and the ladies at the class last night. It was a great kick off to Catherine's Adventure in Tea stamps!

Some Vintage and Some Mod

The first of the CHA new lines has arrived with more boxes arriving today. The first two are a study in contrast- one reminds me of my childhood in the 60's "Saturday Morning" and the other is vintage at it's most elegant. Both I'm sure will get you thinking of projects to come.

If you grew up in the 60's & 70's, Saturday mornings meant a bowl of cereal with LOTS of sugar and cartoons. This line has one side with images from that weekly ritual and the other side with smaller designs from that era. For some reason I photographed the subtler side- guess I thought it would appeal to more. For this 60's/ 70's girl the flip side is just fun and brings back lots of memories. As always October Afternoon is an expert on color pairings.


Just in time for your Valentine's projects

 

If you saw the vintage photo sheets we had this fall we have a new shipment with many to choose from including: Valentines, spring, babies, little boys, flower girls, animals and others. We also received a new paper line in soft shades of pink and blue inspired by one of my favorite cities, Paris. I'm not sure why I didn't photograph that line, maybe because I was a little taken aback by this poor babe...

Don't think this would fly now but... I know someone will come up with the perfect project for this poor little one.

 New products from CHA began to arrive yesterday and an old friend we all love but haven't seen in a while arrived? Can you guess who it is? Also arriving yesterday was our favorite international line and you will love this collection; it is tres chic!

 

A Couple of Reminders

 

- Adventures in Tea Paper Doll Tag Class this Thursday evening, 1/22/15 from 5:30-8. Cost is $30 and it isn't too late to join but you will need to call the store to reserve your spot.

 

-Documented Creative Time this Friday evening from 5:30- midnight. It's free just bring your " Documented project" or any other project to work on- it's basically a crop I just don't like that word. Call the shop to reserve your spot and bring a potluck appetizer/snack. I'll bring a big pot of soup.

 

 

- Valentine Postcard Swap It isn't too late! swing by and pick up 2 blank postcards, decorate front and/or back in all your Valentine finery, return to Paper Crown by Sat., Feb 7th and you can pick up your swap Tuesday, Feb 10th. Just in time for Valentine's Day!

Guess Who is Coming to Paper Crown?!!!

It's someone I have hoped would come since I took a class from her last summer. Let me say first, she is the most patient teacher. You will love her teaching style and her absolutely beautiful jewelry. I am thrilled to announce Terri Brush will be coming to OKC in November to teach three classes and be with us at Glitter Market!

Terri will be teaching a bracelet, necklace and soldered house class. Registration will begin Feb. 1 on Terri's website, http://www.terribrushdesigns.com/  and class samples will be at Paper Crown in just a couple of weeks. You won't want to miss this opportunity to take from Terri. Mark your calendars for Nov. 19-22 and registration, Feb. 1st. Since Terri lives on the west coast I have a feeling we will have a lot of students from out of town so check your calendars and mark Feb. 1st.

EXCITING NEWS!  Oklahoma City HERE  I COME !  I am HEADING TO Oklahoma City in NOVEMBER !!! I will be teaching 3 days of workshops at Paper Crown, the same weekend as Cindy's infamous Glitter Market where I will also be vending! My classes will be: Thursday, Nov 19th Friday, Nov 20th Sun Nov 22nd Come spend the weekend with me and Cindy at Paper Crown, take new workshops and get to shop this amazing market!  My workshops will go on sale Feb 1st on my website! I cannot wait to get to Oklahoma!! Documented Creative Time

This is as far as I have gotten- the moleskin is purchased. I am hoping to get some work done next Friday the 23rd

So many of you are doing documented life and documented faith we decided to have a " documented creative time " once a month when we can all gather in the classroom and show or demonstrated our documented projects for the month and just create. Even if you aren't doing one of the "documented" projects you are still welcome, just come play with us.  Think of this as a crop.

We will meet the next to last Friday evening of every month and you can work on your current projects and learn some new techniques from your friends. I will try to have someone demonstrate a new technique or demo a new product each month. Cost is free but I ask that you call ahead to make a reservation. I can tell we will have to switch a couple of months due to holidays or previously scheduled events but this is a great place to start.

For our first "DCT" let's do potluck snacks - savory or sweet. I will bring a pot of soup for those coming straight from work. We will work from 5:30- midnight and the class discount will apply to those in attendance.

I know a lot of you were wanting this feature so I hope next Friday, Jan. 23rd is a full house. Call Paper Crown at 405 848-2389 to reserve your spot for our first Documented Creative Time.
