Paper Crown will be closed Thursday only. I'm making the drive to Waco to deposit my two oldest kiddos. I have a feeling there will be a few tears on the long ride home.

However to keep my mind off my empty house, Paper Crown 40% off birthday sale will be Friday, August 23 & Saturday, August 24. Everything will be 40% off so come stock up. I'm needing the space 20 plus boxes are waiting in the backroom full of new treats!

A Weekend of Fun with Debby Schuh

In just a few short weeks Debby Schuh will be at Paper Crown for a fabulous Fall Retreat. If you have been thinking about it, I advise you to sign up soon. The classes are filling quickly, especially those on Friday. Debby is a national recognized teacher who regularly teaches at some of my favorite stores across the country- those stores that Paper Crown wants to be when we grow up : ) This is such a special opportunity for our customers and those in the area HOWEVER we are limited to the number that can attend.  Debby sent out an email to her TX and OK students yesterday and I will begin emailing our data base today so please don't be disappointed.

For a more detailed description of classes and supplies, see our July 14, 2013 blog posting. A deposit of half your class fees is required when you sign up. Debby is offering a $10.00 discount if you sign up for any 3 classes and Paper Crown will issue a $5.00 gift card for each class you are registered in.  To register for classes call Paper Crown at 405 848-2389 with a credit card, half will be charged when you call and the balance the day of class.

We currently have all the supplies in stock on Debby's list.

Two entire tables of stamps were donated

We had a great day Friday and Saturday distributing the craft and art supplies which were donated to those affected by the storms this spring. Everyone who came, walked away with several boxes full of supplies. It was fun to see how the donations from all over the country and even Japan, brought a smile to those who have had such a rough couple of months. The only hitch was everyone was so generous that this weekends shopping made just a tiny dent. We have opened up the backroom to our area teachers. We had several that came by yesterday after school and it was so fun to hear how excited they were about the supplies. The backroom will be open to teacher through Saturday or until it is gone. Thank you again to the many, many, generous crafters who donated to Healing Scraps for Oklahoma.

 

Adult Kid's Camp

Come celebrate Back to School with an adult class this Thursday. We did it in Kid's Camp so I know you can do it also. Join us for a relaxing evening of circles. Really that is all it is!

How are those crowns coming. We have our first of hopefully many crown entries. First prize is a Paper Crown gift certificate- just in time for all the new lines. I will also be awarding 7 smaller prizes so make a crown and help us celebrate our 7th birthday. Next Friday and Saturday will be our birthday celebration. I know you won't want to miss it!

We have a limited amount of rush gifts available. We may not have a lot but what we have is unique to OKC. We also have some custom sorority banners if you are looking for that special pledge gift.

We are moving stuff around to make room for Halloween and new lines!

Healing Scraps for Oklahoma

I am asking for your help! Paper Crown followers please let any friends, family or acquaintances you know who were affected by the storms this spring, know that this weekend only, Paper Crown will be hosting a "free store"

The backroom has been turned into a mini store jam packed with every conceivable art and scrap booking supply. You can just come in, grab a box and fill it with as much as you want.

We have been collecting boxes for the past 3 months and we have received over 150 from all over the country. The response was amazing!

This is a great opportunity for teachers in Moore to replenish supplies for their classroom. Please help us get the word out.

Crafting Young and ... a tad bit older

Here is what has been up at Paper Crown the past week...

  

Last month's theme was my favorite things. it was fun to see everyone's take on it. Most thoughtful award went to Lisa Nix DeGeorge who gave up her autograph from Tim Holtz to put in Kory's book. She knew Kory was a big fan and surprised him with a "favorite" thing. My picture was blurry but will get one next month- promise.

The "you blew us away" or " do I REALLY have to follow that! " award goes to Bobbie. She had been working on a " circus" room for her sweet granddaughter Violet Marie last month and that was her "favorite" thing last month. Lucky Medeah got this wonderful interactive circus big top page. It was amazing!

Yesterday was the first day of the August Kid's Camp. I love doing this and as I have said many times, they continue to amaze me! Yesterday was not the most exciting day- a lot of prep for this week's projects but thought you would still enjoy these talented and entertaining kiddos. A couple I missed yesterday but promise more of their work later this week.

Guess who entertains us the entire time? Love this funny guy!

First Monday

It is hard to believe summer is quickly coming to a close- where did it go? Tonight is our last First Monday for the summer. Join us for a quick craft, some shopping at a 20% discount and yummy treats- lemon crinkle cookies- perfect for a hot day. Healing Scraps for Oklahoma store will be open this Friday & Saturday only. If you have been in the classroom, you know an entire wall is covered with boxes of items donated from all over the country for those effected my the spring storms. This weekend we will open the backroom to those who lost all their crafting supplies and teachers in the effected areas. Thousands of items are available and you can take whatever you want for free. Please pass the word on to those effected.
