Closed Thursday & Friday for AC

Those of you who suffered through last summer with us will be thrilled that we are getting a new unit for the front of the store. No more sweat shop shopping! However with this breathe of cool air comes a little more discomfort- we will be closed Thursday, April 26 & Friday, April 27th.

Cheri Price, no longer Redburn ;) , will open at 10 am on Saturday for all your "cool" shopping needs. Lots of new goodies in the back.

Store hours next week, Mon.- Thurs., will be 10-2. Be kind to sweet Jill, she is allowing me a little break after my wedding weekend. I will be back on Friday with the nicest international artist Colette Copeland. More to come on Miss Colette's classes but you will not want to miss!

Not too Late

For those of you who have not had the opportunity to take a class from KC Willis it is not too late- but you better act quickly. Since KC had to reschedule her classes from last week to this weekend, we have some openings. If you are interested in any of KC's three classes just show up at the store on Friday or Saturday at 10 am and you are in. KC will be teaching all 3 each day since many of the techniques overlap.

KC has decided to devote her time and talents to the Pine Ridge reservation so this is one of her last traveling classes. You won't want to miss this opportunity.

Class option 1
Crazy Quilt
Class option 3
 Shrine

Class option 2
collage camp

Store will be open today, Friday from 10-2 for retail business. I am headed south to get a marriage license but Jill will be manning the store until school is out. Store will remain open for those in KC's class. Saturday we are back to norma, 10-5.l.

Don't regret  not taking this class- you will love it- I DID!

Back in the Saddle

Whew it has been a while! Two weeks ago during a storm, our computer was installing updates when the electricity went out. Apparently that is very bad! Our mother board went bad and we have been out of commission for a bit. There is a much more precise explanation for our mishap but really do you care?

Two new lines from Crate Paper

We are still here and while it has been radio silent on your end we have been busy unpacking boxes- lots of boxes...
Two new Basic Grey lines- What's Up? and PB&J
Several new lines from Anna Griffin

New shipment of Spring and Summer bracelets- we still have the best prices and selection in town!
We still have some Heidi Swapp left in both lines- this is the hottest thing going this Spring!
New Santos with the prettiest crowns!
Functional and pretty storage- this would be prefect in your studio

New Somerset shipment- Where Women Create, Studios and Artful Blogging

If you were not able to attend KC Willis classes last weekend you are in luck- due to an injury, KC rescheduled her classes to this Friday and Saturday. If you are interested in attending any of her 3 classes pls. call the store for more information.

What A Way to Start the Week

Wow I wish every week could start off like yesterday- it was full of friends, wonderful food, beauty beyond measure and I even got lovely presents. Which I did not need but absolutely love- even the one that made me blush- which was kinda silly of me but...

As usual I forgot my camera. Ironic isn't it since I own a scrapbook store; however, Jackie has some beautiful pictures on her blog and Katie is going to send me hers later this week. So for now you will have to hop over to Good Grief Girdie for all the excitement. Thank you all for a magical afternoon- it was beyond wonderful!
One of several new Pink Paislee lines

New Somerset " Mingle" great magazine to get ideas for parties and gatherings- however they have absolutely NOTHING on the 6 of you from yesterday!

Spring Jubilee from Pink Paislee a great line to use for Easter. The colorful tablecloth from Funktion was just too pretty to hang in the corner. It would be a perfect addition for your Easter table. What's even better a very chic Classen Curve  store carries this line of linens and aprons but at a huge markup. Why pay extra?!

A wall of new Tim Holtz goodies

Still a few openings in Medeah's mixed media canvas class this Thursday, March 29th from 5:30-8:30. Cost is $45.00. Please call the store to reserve your class spot.

Enjoy this beautiful day!

Boxes and boxes of new items have arrived the past few weeks. Just as I get them situated, more boxes arrive at my back stoop. Here are just a few of the new items that have made their way to the front of the store.

Several new lines from Pink Paislee including Heidi Swapp's Sugar Chic- come quick this is flying out the door!

We also got in a new shipment from Somerset Studios including- Somerset Life, Somerset Memories, Mingle and Journaling. They are all wonderful but I'm partial to Somerset Life because....

Our very own Renee Rogers has several wonderful projects featured in this edition. Congratulations Renee!

Don't forget to sign up for Heather's classes this weekend. Enjoy this stormy day

It's Time to Hop Off that Fence

I'm a procrastinator. I have always been and probably will always be one. I crammed the night before a test, bday party stuff is always done the night before and I have never been to bed on Christmas eve before 3. My mom was a procrastinator; growing up I remember hearing the sewing machine hum late into the night, especially before I needed a costume, dress, formal or even my wedding dress.

Usually it's an OK thing if you can handle the stress; however, when it comes to our traveling teachers- it's BAD- very Bad!

We have three teachers coming into town in the next few days to weeks. Heather is scheduled to come this weekend. She is the closest - about 3 hours but it's still a trek (I know, I made it this am) and she is pregnant- lots of restroom stops. KC is coming mid April from Colorado for a weekend of fun. Not sure the drive time but would guess 8-10ish, not a quick trip. Finally Colette is coming the first weekend in May all the way from Canada.

Needless to say there is a lot of traveling in the next month. I know there has been a lot of talk about all of these classes but also a lot of fence sitting. Nothing worse than having a teacher come in to Paper Crown for a mediocre turnout. So if you are interested in Heather, KC or Colette's classes please check your calendars and sign up. It will make planning much easier for us and you have a wonderful class to look forward to attending.

Spring Break Break

Paper Crown will be taking a little Spring Break Tuesday, March 20. We will be closed on Tuesday the 20th and back to business on Wed., March 21 at noon. Katie is competing in a contest at Baylor on Tuesday evening and she asked that mom be present. I realize those opportunities to watch her "shine" in school events are quickly coming to a close so I'm taking advantage of them. I apologize for any inconvenience.

It was a rainy start to Spring Break so what better than a painting day or two...

Sunday was Kid's Camp and we did one of my favorites. Each student created 3 signature flowers, painted those on their canvas and then passed their canvas to the right. It's a group painting but everyone gets to take one home. This group was 2nd - 6th graders.

A very happy camper! And a very talented one to boot.

We did the same thing today for a birthday party- just older girls. Their canvases turned out beautifully!

Enjoy this rainy evening- a great night for a good book. I'm trying to finish the Hunger Games before I see the movie. I love it when my kids recommend I book- I just love it when they read! See you Wed. - all the new goodies will be out
