I think one of the key words for this year's Glitter Retreat was "flexible." I must confess we slightly sugar coated the week's forecast for our guests. Weathermen were predicting hail, tornadoes, extreme winds- we rephrased to rainy and stormy. Thankfully the bad weather headed another direction and we just had stormy skies, rain and cooler temperatures. One casualty of the weather; however, was our outdoor bistro planned for our Thursday evening get together. After looking at the week's forecast we moved our first gathering to Whiskey Cake where we hosted our first Glitter Retreat meet and greet two years ago.
We were thrilled to have Catherine as our guest artist at this year's retreat. |
Catherine's stamp was brought to life- or at least life sized- by Jackie and our shop mascot, Miss Girdie |
newest store front addition by Angie. Isn't it beautiful! |
After dinner we headed back to Paper Crown for dessert and a little shopping. Girdie decked out in her Paris Flea finest, greeted our guests. The front also was spiffed up with this beautiful canvas
painted by Angie. I love it and it makes such a statement when customers pull up to the store.
A beautiful fresh fruit tart from La Baguette |
One of my favorite areas of planning the retreat is the treats. I love getting a treat, either large or small and love planning that for others. Thursday evening's bags included a favorite Somerset Studio magazine, night time tea and these scrumptious Eiffel tower cookies from the Cookie Princess. We then said "Bonne Nuit" because we had an art and adventure filled Friday.
Thanks to Medeah and Jackie for our wonderful pictures
